DAINTREE & GREAT BARRIER REEF
Ever Bloomfield rests between two UNESCO World Heritage sites – the ancient Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef – immersed in one of the most biologically rich regions in Australia. Reached by boat, Ever Bloomfield offers rare privacy and a powerful sense of connection to land and sea. Each day moves gently between rainforest, river and coral coast, guided by those who understand this country deeply.
At Ever Bloomfield, every space has been considered with intention. Designed to sit lightly within the rainforest, the lodge’s shared areas invite connection, reflection and quiet immersion in nature. From open air dining to secluded corners for reading or conversation, each area supports a slower, more meaningful stay.
An unhurried space where afternoon light filters through the canopy. Handcrafted rattan furnishings and tactile layers invite you to slow down, settle in, and let the rainforest envelope you. Casual dining meets deep calm – comfortably wild, never staged.
By day, a light-filled room framing rainforest views. By night, a moody sanctuary for conversation and considered dining. Curated artefacts tell the story of Bloomfield and the ancient Daintree – each piece an invitation to linger a little longer.
A theatrical hideaway for slow drinks, low light, and long laughter. Intimate and indulgent, this amber-lit den feels deliciously removed from the outside world. Pool table, integrated bar, music drifting through – a space designed for moments you won’t want to end.
No two stays at Ever Bloomfield are the same. Experiences are curated in response to each guest’s interests, mood and the conditions of the day, rather than following a fixed schedule.
Journey across the Coral Sea on a full-day exploration of Cedar Bay, East and West Hope Islands, and the vibrant Pickersgill Reef. Snorkel among coral gardens and marine life, engaged in citizen science, guided by experts who bring the reef’s living systems to life, with opportunities for wildlife spotting and reef fishing along the way. Travel by custom vessel and small watercraft, and enjoy a relaxed, chef-prepared lunch on board.
Traverse the terrain of a working cattle station on a guided side-by-side ATV journey. Move from dense rainforest to open savannah plains and through paperbark forests alive with birdlife. Along the way, learn about the rhythms of station life and the land that sustains it.
The CREB Track is one of Far North Queensland’s great drives – raw, remote, and unhurried. This expedition follows its northern reaches from Port Bloomfield to Roaring Meg Falls, where guests are welcomed by Traditional Owners with a smoking ceremony before a short walk through the forest to the water. Lunch at an outdoor rainforest kitchen follows, before an afternoon of rainforest walks and creek swims.
The ride to Trevathan Falls is half the experience. Guests take to e-bikes along a flat dirt track that threads through rainforest, wetland and woodland savannah – witness the changing environment and keep watch for wildlife.
Trevathan Creek flows year-round, and above the main cascade a series of secluded pools look north across the escarpment toward Cooktown. Lunch arrives by picnic basket. The afternoon is yours – swim, explore, or simply sit with a view very few people ever find themselves in front of.
Cedar Bay arrives differently depending on how you reach it. Approached from the sea, the bay reveals itself slowly – coconut groves, a sweep of beach, and an amphitheatre of mountains rising behind the cove. On foot, the journey begins at Auravale and crosses the saddle, dropping down to Oyster Beach before the final stretch to the bay itself.
Once home to one of Tropical North Queensland’s most storied communities, Cedar Bay now sits quiet within Jabalbina’s native title country – unhurried, largely unvisited, and entirely itself. Lunch is waiting under the shade of three large trees, set and ready, as if the place has been expecting you.
Fly deep into country rich with ancient stories and living culture. Landing near Quinkan rock art site, listed by UNESCO as being among the top 10 rock art sites in the world. Meet with Traditional Owners who share the art’s meaning and its enduring connection to their ancestors. A profound journey through 30,000 years of both time and place.

Walk beneath ancient canopies in the world’s oldest living rainforest. Guided by those who know it intimately, discover how plants, wildlife, and culture intertwine across this remarkable ecosystem. Every step reveals another layer of connection between people and place.
As the afternoon light softens, drinks in hand and eyes on the banks, the Bloomfield River reveals what the rainforest keeps close to the water’s edge. Birds work the shallows, mangroves crowd the banks, and eyes stay peeled for the elusive crocodile. The river at dusk is a different world entirely.
Departing from the lodge, an hour through the rainforest brings guests to Kangaji – a secluded bay with the particular quality of feeling entirely undiscovered. Time here is unstructured: beach combing, swimming, or doing very little at all. A picnic lunch arrives from the lodge kitchen. The return can be made on foot or by boat, depending on the tide and the mood.
The Hope Islands sit within fringing reef and mangrove, holding the kind of seafood larder that rewards patience and a little luck. Guests head out by boat to fish the reef or hunt mud crabs before turning their catch into a beach cook – fire lit, fish cleaned, the whole unhurried sequence from sea to plate. For those who prefer it, the catch travels back to the lodge kitchen instead.
The experience can also fold into a day at Cedar Bay, where the catch becomes the centrepiece of a more elevated lunch on the beach – guests arriving with the ingredients, the chef arriving with everything else.
